The voices of the children,
Rehearsing, laughing, learning,
Are woven in and out
The paychecks of the workers
Dwindling, depositing, cashing,
Are strung into the mess
The sun of the summer
Hiding, beating, burning,
Washes out the work
The earths dirt and grime
Cradling, covering, devouring,
All the work that you've done
On that trivial tapestry.
