-The Maddening Hours-
Hours stretching
on and on;
Fingers tapping
non-beats;
Pen sketching-
chicken scratch.
My mind is
numbing,
slowly,
like noxious gas
putting my mind
in a haze.
Relief is nowhere
in sight.
No short rest
could break
the monotony.
Please,
show me an escape hatch,
so I can crawl out
into the daylight.
