Forty nine years ago
The world welcomed you
Into it's arms.
And there it's cradled you
Ever since.
As you grew
And grayed
And gave.
While you watched the world grow with you.

Some twenty years and a few months ago
You welcomed me
With the world
Into your arms.
And there you've cradled me
Ever since.
As I've argued
And learned
And taken.
While you helped me to grow with you.
